We Answered Your Question: "Are Impossible™ Products Vegan?"

For anyone out there wondering ‘Are Impossible™ products vegan?’, we’re setting the record straight for you today.  Before we get into it, it’s important to let you know that our mission is to save our planet from the catastrophic effects of the animal agricultural industry. We’ve known from the beginning that if we want to transform the global food system, we need to create mouthwatering alternatives to our favorite foods that don’t require sacrifice or compromise.  We do that by creating delicious meat, fish and dairy made from plants—without any animal ingredients!

While we love our vegan and vegetarian fans, we created our products with meat-eaters in mind because each time someone chooses meat from plants over meat from animals, they use less water & land and generate less greenhouse gasses. That’s a huge win for the planet! We like to say that while our products are made FROM plants, they’re made FOR people who love eating meat, and we welcome any and all to join us on our mission

We started with Impossible™ Burger, and now we’ve expanded to other mouthwatering products, including Impossible™ Sausage Made From Plants, Impossible™ Chicken Nuggets Made From Plants, Impossible™ Pork Made From Plants, and Impossible™ Meatballs Made From Plants.

If you are new to Impossible products, read on to learn more about each one.

What’s in Impossible Burger?

Impossible Burger is made for people who love the taste and texture of ground meat, but is made from plants. Impossible Burger cooks like beef, tastes like beef and is better for the planet than beef from cows.* You can use Impossible Burger just like you would ground beef in any recipe,  whether it’s in chili, tacos, lasagnas, or, of course, as a burger.

Want another reason to try Impossible Burger? It offers 19g of protein per 4 oz serving—the same as USDA 80/20 ground beef.  In addition to being an excellent source of protein, Impossible Burger is also a good source of dietary fiber (14g total fat), vitamins, and essential minerals, and is Halal, Gluten-Free and Kosher certified.

We use soy leghemoglobin as a source of heme to give Impossible Burger its meaty flavor; coconut and sunflower oils to make it sizzle on the griddle and common binders like methylcellulose and food starch to bring it all together. We also use a natural antioxidant, mixed tocopherols, because food safety and quality are a top priority. Our natural flavors are substances derived from plant matter or from fermentation processes using microorganisms; they work with soy leghemoglobin to provide the craveable meaty flavor of Impossible Burger.

Try Impossible Burger for yourself with a few of these delicious recipe ideas:

* In home usage studies, 69% of 704 U.S. consumers who cooked with Impossible™ Burger thought the taste was comparable to or better than ground beef from cows. Compared to beef from cows, Impossible™ Burger uses 87% less water, 96% less land, and generates 89% less greenhouse gas emissions.

What’s in Impossible Sausage Made From Plants?

Impossible™ Sausage Made From Plants is made for people who love the savory taste of sausage but don’t want to eat ground pork from pigs. Add Impossible Sausage to your favorite breakfast dishes like burritos and sandwiches, or as a side next to your favorite vegan pancakes or French toast. It is also perfect as a pizza topping and in pasta!

Impossible Sausage contains many of the same ingredients as those in Impossible Burger like soy as the primary protein source, sunflower oil and coconut oil for sizzle, heme for a  meat-like taste, methylcellulose and food starch to bring the other ingredients all together and mixed tocopherols (a natural antioxidant) to keep it fresh and safe for consumption. We also add in vitamins and essential minerals to add a nutritional punch, as well as natural flavors, spices and yeast extract to give it the craveable flavors we love in sausage.

Even better news? You have not one but two Impossible Sausage flavors to choose from: Savory and Spicy. Savory has the mouthwatering taste of fresh sausage and comes fully seasoned with a herbaceous and peppery bite.  Looking for something with a bit more kick? Spicy is perfect for those who enjoy a little heat, with a bold kick of cayenne and chili flakes. And with 7 g protein per 2oz serving, you can be sure you’re getting protein every time you fire up the stove or oven.
