It’s loaded with cheese, spicy sausage made from plants, and thinly sliced red onion on a pizza crust that’s sure to be a hit in your household.

Anyone can make this mouthwatering spicy sausage pizza recipe, no matter your culinary level or experience—seriously. Feel free to invite your kids or little ones to lend a helping hand in the kitchen. This recipe makes two 8-10" pizzas and comes together in about 20 minutes flat, so it’s perfect for when you need to throw down a quick meal. Top your spicy sausage and red onion pizza with freshly torn basil or red pepper flakes.

If you want to make this pizza in advance for meal prep or to have some emergency spicy sausage pizzas ready to eat in your freezer, make according to recipe directions and then separate the slices from each other using a knife or a pizza cutter. Wrap the slices individually in plastic wrap and freeze in a single layer in the freezer on a baking sheet. Move frozen pizza slices to an airtight container or plastic bag for long-term storage, about two months.

To reheat from frozen, place the unwrapped pizza slice (or slices) on a sheet pan and bake for about 5-7 minutes in a preheated 425F degree oven, or until heated through and crispy. Enjoy!

  • 1 Package Impossible™ Sausage Made From Plants (Spicy, 14 oz)
  • 2 premade pizza crusts, Homemade or store-bought
  • 2 Cups Pizza sauce
  • 1/2 Each Red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded mozzarella or plant-based mozzarella
  • 6 Leaves Fresh Basil
  • Red pepper flakes

  1. Bake the sausage

    Preheat oven to 425F. Crumble Impossible Sausage Made From Plants (Spicy) into pieces about the size of a quarter, and spread evenly on a sheet pan. Bake for 4-5 minutes or until Impossible Sausage is just cooked through. Remove from oven and set aside. Don't be alarmed if the Impossible Spicy Sausage appears partially cooked—you'll be cooking it again on the pizza! Leave oven on.

  2. Prepare the pizza

    Place premade pizza crusts on sheet pans or directly on a pizza stone. Top each evenly with pizza sauce, cheese, partially baked Impossible Sausage, and red onion. Bake at 425F for about 8-10 minutes or until cheese and crust starts to lightly brown.

  3. Bake and serve

    Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Cut into slices and garnish with freshly torn basil or red pepper flakes, if desired.
