It’s time to make a big old pot of Spaghetti and Meatballs using easy and delicious Impossible™ Meatballs Made From Plants. With simmering marinara sauce, piping hot spaghetti, and convenient, tasty meatballs, this traditional dinner is not only hearty and comforting, but plant-based.
The recipe calls for one can of diced San Marzano tomatoes. The legendary sweet and tangy tomatoes are perfect for an authentic sauce. If you buy San Marzano tomatoes in a can, check to see if the can has the Italian government's DOP label. DOP means Protected Designation of Origin in English and it means the tomatoes are authentically from the San Marzano region. Try to use the fresh herbs for your sauce if you can; they pack a more powerful flavor than their dried counterparts. If you'd like to get a tasty family dinner on the table quick, you can also use your favorite brand of jarred marinara sauce!
This wonderfully traditional dish is the perfect way to round out your day, and because you used Impossible Meatballs, it’s better for the planet, too.

- 1/2 Cup onion, diced
- 3 Cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 28 Ounce Can San Marzano tomatoes, diced
- 1 Tablespoon Chopped fresh thyme
- 1 Tablespoon Chopped fresh oregano
- 1 Tablespoon Chopped fresh basil
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 Tablespoon parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 Tablespoon Chopped fresh Italian parsley
Boil the Spaghetti
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add a generous pinch of salt and cook pasta according to the package’s instructions.
Make the Marinara and Meatballs
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions and minced garlic, and cook until soft. Add tomatoes and bring to a boil, then lower the heat to a simmer for about 30 min. Add the fresh herbs and continue to cook about about 1 minute, and then season the sauce to taste with salt and pepper. Add frozen Impossible Meatballs to the sauce, and simmer in the sauce until warmed through, about 10-12 minutes. *Alternatively, use a large jar of your favorite store bought marinara sauce in place of the homemade sauce.
Serve
To serve, ladle sauce and meatballs over spaghetti and top with parmesan and parsley. Enjoy!
