YOUR TRUST, OUR PRIORITY

Our Commitment to Unparalleled Food Safety and Quality

At Impossible Foods, our mission is to positively impact people and the planet through our products, so our commitment to quality and safety is our #1 priority. We implement quality and safety best-practices across every stage of our production process, beginning with the high-quality raw ingredients we source, and extending throughout our meticulous product design, manufacturing, and distribution processes.

We recognize that consumers and customers place their trust in us every time they purchase an Impossible Foods product, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Consistent Record of Excellence

Proudly Certified by the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program

The SQF certification program is a globally recognized food safety initiative managed by the Safe Quality Foods Institute that covers all sectors of the food supply chain. Our Oakland factory has secured the prestigious Safe Quality Food Institute (SQF) certification for five consecutive years, with an all-time high score of 99/100 in 2022 for cleanliness and food safety. This year our factory is also a nominee for the SQF Excellence Award, which will be announced later in 2023. It is a testament to the work of our dedicated Quality Team and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Team that ensures our facility, equipment and control processes and upholds the highest standards in food quality and safety.

Setting Industry Standards

How We Work With Our Partners

We hold our suppliers and co-manufacturers to the same high standards as our own, which means requiring robust safety protocol and exceptional cleaning and quality practices throughout all of our partners’ facilities. We also enforce the same strict quality control procedures and regular testing that we’ve implemented at our own facilities. In addition to ensuring that our partners share our high standards, we also require them to comply with all federal, state, and local requirements, and we require them to promptly report any issues that could affect the quality or safety of our products.

For more information about the standards we set for all of our suppliers, please see our Supplier Code of Conduct(opens in a new tab)

Safety-First Culture

Ensuring the Safety of our People

Our safety-first culture has resulted in an injury rate that is significantly lower than the industry standard for food manufacturing plants – and it’s a fraction of the rate seen in U.S. animal manufacturing facilities*. When a safety incident is reported, we take them seriously and investigate thoroughly with strict adherence to the OSHA reporting requirements for a food manufacturing facility. This investigation process includes: thorough documentation, safety audits and corrective actions and a vetting of future mitigation strategies.
