What type of waffles accompany the Impossible Chicken is also up to you. Go all out with some homemade yeasted waffles, or keep it simple with store-bought frozen waffles. And we highly recommend Impossible Foods Chef J. Michael Melton's spiced maple syrup recipe, but you do you! Make a spiced honey instead of maple syrup, use plain maple syrup, melt the butter and syrup together, add jams or hot sauces instead of using syrup, whatever suits your style.   • 1 Package Impossible™ Chicken Nuggets, Patties, or Tenders Made From Plants
  • 2 Cups maple syrup
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 Teaspoon allspice
  • 1 Teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1/2 Teaspoon white peppercorns
  • 1/2 Teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 Teaspoon cardamom
  • Homemade Waffles or Toaster Waffles
  • softened butter, as desired

  1. Make the Spiced Maple Syrup

    Combine maple syrup, cinnamon stick, allspice, black peppercorns, nutmeg and cardamom in a pot. Warm over low heat to just under a boil (making sure NOT to boil!), and then turn off the heat and steep for 5 minutes. Strain with a fine mesh sieve, and serve warm. Refrigerate any syrup not used for this recipe, and reheat for your next brunch.

  2. Bake the Impossible Chicken

    Bake the nuggets, patties or tenders according to package instructions.

  3. Make the waffles

    While the Impossible Chicken is baking, make your favorite waffle recipe, or toast some frozen store-bought waffles. *Make this recipe 100% plant-based by using a plant-based waffles recipe!

  4. Assemble the Impossible Chicken and Waffles

    Pile some nuggets or tenders onto your waffles, and serve with butter and spiced maple syrup. Or sandwich a patty between two waffles spread with a little butter and spiced maple syrup for a great to-go option. Enjoy! *Make this recipe 100% plant-based by substituting plant-based butter.
