Recipe - Impossible Shepherd's Pie

Chop your bell pepper, celery, and onion to prepare your filling.

PREP YOUR INGREDIENTS

In a pan, sauté and season your vegetables until they are halfway cooked. Add your Impossible Burger and tomato paste. Cook on low to simmer for 20 minutes. The mixture will be thick and luscious.

CREATE THE FILLING

Chop and boil your potatoes for 8-10 minutes until tender. After you strain and mash potatoes, add half and half, salt, pepper, butter and cheddar. Mix until smooth. 

CREATE THE POTATO CRUST

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Take your filling and add your cheesy mashed potatoes on top. Smooth your mashed over the filling and place in the oven for 15 minutes until golden brown.

BAKE YOUR SHEPHERD'S PIE

Garnish with chopped parsley and enjoy while warm!

Try this Three Bean Impossible™ Chili made with Impossible™ Burger.

Recipe - Three Bean Impossible™ Chili

Dice the white onion, carrot, celery, bell peppers, and jalapeños. Mince the garlic.

In a medium stockpot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add all vegetables (onion, carrot, celery, garlic, bell peppers & jalapenos) to the pot. Season with salt and cook until soft, about 4 minutes.

START THE VEGETABLES

Crumble Impossible™ Burger and add to the vegetables. Stir until cooked through. Stir in the dry seasonings. Add the crushed tomatoes, vegetable stock, and apple cider vinegar. Bring mixture to a boil, then drop to a simmer. Drain the canned beans and add to the pot. Cook for approximately 30 minutes, or until reduced by 20%.

COOK THE CHILI

Finely chop the cilantro. Combine with the sour cream, lime juice and zest, and chipotle chili powder in a bowl and stir until well-combined. Serve chili in a bowl and top with crema. *Make it 100% plant-based with plant-based sour cream.

Over medium-high heat, sear Impossible Burger in a 2-3 quart sauce pot.

COOK THE IMPOSSIBLE BURGER

You can use your favorite bbq sauce or this one for an added challenge! Place coarsely chopped onion, jalapeno, and garlic in a food processor. Pulse until a paste is formed. In a 3-quart pot over medium heat, heat up vegetable oil. Cook onion, jalapeno, & garlic until soft and translucent, about 3 minutes. Whisk in chili powder, dry mustard, and tomato paste, cook for 1 minute. Whisk in other ingredients: ketchup, molasses, pineapple juice, apple cider vinegar, and hot sauce, and bring to simmer. Add in brown sugar. Once simmering, cook for approximately 10 minutes. Whisk in Concord grape jelly and season with salt & pepper.

MAKE THE SAUCE

Go back to your Impossible Burger and lower the heat to low-medium. Add in approximately 16 oz of the BBQ sauce. Once this is brought to a simmer, reduce the heat to low for serving.

ADD THE SAUCE

For plating, scoop desired amount of Impossible Sloppy Joe mixture onto a potato bun. Top with fried onions and bread & butter pickles. Serve with a napkin and enjoy!

PREPARE THE IMPOSSIBLE BURGER

This no-cook sauce is super simple and only needs to be blended right before you're ready to use. Refrigerate for up to 5 days. Combine all ingredients except cilantro and blend on medium/high for about 30-45 seconds, or until well incorporated. Add cilantro and blend to desired consistency. Adjust seasoning.

LETS GET SAUCY

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Allow to sit for 30 minutes in order to allow all flavors to come together.

IT'S SALSA TIME

In a large sauté pan on medium-high heat, add oil and bring up to temperature. Once heated, sear the Impossible Burger patties in batches, 2 minutes each side. Place on paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.

COOK THAT IMPOSSIBLE

Drizzle jerk sauce over patties with a side of the pineapple salsa.

Recipe - Impossible™ Lasagna

Dice the onions, carrots, and celery. Mince the garlic. Place prepped vegetables in a stock pot over medium heat and sweat until soft, about 5 minutes. Add two packages of Impossible Burger and brown until fully cooked.

COOK THE IMPOSSIBLE™ BURGER

Deglaze with red wine and cook for 3 minutes. Add the tomato paste and stir it into the mixture. Cook for about 3 minutes. Add the vegetable stock and canned tomatoes. Bring to boil for 5 minutes. Mince the parsley, thyme, oregano, and basil. Add the fresh herbs and simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until you reach desired consistency. Season to taste.

MAKE THE BOLOGNESE

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add a generous pinch of salt and cook the lasagna noodles for 3 minutes until al dente. Remove from water and stack noodles flat between layers of parchment paper.

BOIL THE NOODLES

To assemble the lasagna, build layers in a 9 x 13 baking dish by adding sauce, then pasta, then evenly spread dollops of ricotta throughout each layer. Repeat for 3 layers. On the top layer, add all the mozzarella and parmesan or pecorino cheese. *Want to make it plant-based? Use plant-based cheese!

ASSEMBLE THE LASAGNA

Bake at 400°F until the Lasagna is cooked through and the cheese is browned on top, about 15-20 minutes. Wait 8-10 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.

BAKE THE LASAGNA

Makes a family-sized lasagna (perfect for dinner and lots of yummy leftovers).

Preheat the oven to 425° F. Dice one yellow onion. Remove the stems from the fresh herbs and finely chop (thyme, oregano, basil). In a bowl, combine the Impossible™ Burger, ¼ cup of diced yellow onion, 2 cloves of minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, 2 tablespoons of grated cheese, red pepper, and 1 tablespoon each of thyme, oregano, and basil. Mix until incorporated. Form 2 oz meatballs and pack tightly. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, bake in the oven for 8 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown. *Make it 100% plant-based with plant-based cheese.

MAKE THE MEATBALLS

Sweat the remaining onions and minced garlic with olive oil until they are soft. Add the tomatoes and simmer for 30-40 minutes. Once the sauce has finished cooking, add the remaining fresh herbs and cook for 1 more minute, then season to taste.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add a generous pinch of salt and cook the spaghetti according to the package’s instructions. Add the meatballs to the finished sauce and serve over spaghetti. Top with your choice of cheese.

BOIL PASTA AND ASSEMBLE

Makes approximately 12 meatballs, serves four.

Recipe - Impossible™ Country Fried Hamburger

Using your hands, mix Impossible Burger with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt until well incorporated. Form into nuggets (approximately 2" x .5") and arrange on a plate to get ready for the buttermilk wash.

Whisk together the buttermilk (use oat milk to make it completely plant-based) and hot sauce until well incorporated.

PREPARE THE BUTTERMILK WASH

Whisk together the AP flour and semolina until well incorporated.

PREPARE THE COATING

In a sauce pan over medium heat, melt butter (use plant-based butter as a substitute). Whisk in flour and stir until well incorporated. Continuing to stir, add in vegetable stock a little at a time. This should continue to thicken as it cooks. Add in heavy cream (use oat milk to make it completely plant-based) slowly, continuing to stir. Once desired consistency is acheived, add in fresh sage. Reduce heat to low for 5-6 minutes. Remove sage. Season with fresh cracked black pepper and salt to taste.

COOK THAT GRAVY

Dunk the seasoned Impossible nuggets into the buttermilk wash, then into the flour mix, coating evenly. Set aside for frying.

DUNK THAT IMPOSSIBLE

In a 5 quart sauce pot, heat 32oz (1 qrt) canola or vegetable oil to 350F. Lower battered & breaded Impossible nuggets into hot oil, rotating evenly until golden brown. Remove and place onto a paper towel lined plate to absorb any excess oil.

INTO THE POOL

Season immediately with salt & pepper and serve with Black Pepper Gravy on the side.

Recipe - Impossible™ Stir Fry

In a large pan over medium heat, add oil and crumble the Impossible Burger in large, fork size pieces to sear. Once seared golden brown, remove from pan and set aside.

START THE IMPOSSIBLE BURGER

In the same pan over medium heat, add yellow onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 2 minutes or until soft and aromatic. Add the carrots, red bell peppers, sugar snap peas, shitake mushrooms, and shishito peppers. Cook for 2 minutes.

COOK THE VEGETABLES

Add the tamari, sambal, hoisin & Thai Basil. Cook for 1 minute and reduce heat to low for serving.

ADD SOME FLAVOR

Serve stir fry over rice, top with sesame seeds and fried egg (omit egg to make dish completely plant-based), and add lime wedge on the side.

Recipe - Impossible Patty Melt

Place sliced onions in a pot. Cover onions about 90% with cola and add salt. Place over medium heat and reduce until cola is completely reduced and evaporated. Be careful not to burn. Set aside. 

Make the Caramelized Onions

Combine cheese and water in a sauce pan. Heat slowly and whisk until well incorporated. Set aside. 

Make melty cheese sauce

Form three 4 oz burger patties. Lightly toast rye bread in pan or on flat top. Gently place Impossible Burger patties on a pre-heated surface and cook for 1 minute per side or until a slight sear has formed. Continuing to toast the rye bread, place seared Impossible Burger patty on one slice of the bread. Top with caramelized onions, dill pickle slices and cheese sauce and top with other slice. Cook until bread is golden brown and burger is desired temperature.

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium/high heat.

Break up Impossible Burger over the hot oil and sear until golden brown. Once cooked through, remove from pot and reserve.

ADD THE IMPOSSIBLE BURGER

Add onions, jalapeños, garlic, and poblanos. Stirring frequently, cook until soft and aromatic, about 3-4 min.

MORE VEGETABLES

Stir in chili powder, cumin, and coriander. Cook for an additional minute.

AND THE SPICES

Add tomatoes and heavy cream. Cook for 5 more minutes. Turn heat down to low.

THEN THE TOMATOES

Slowly stir in cheese until fully incorporated.

CAN'T FORGET THE CHEESE

Once everything is fully incorporated, add in cilantro, lime zest & juice, then keep on low for service. (It can now be moved to a crock pot and kept warm.)

In a large sauté pan over medium heat, sear the Impossible Burger in the pan with oil, until cooked through and golden brown, then remove from pan.

Add garlic, ginger, and onions to the same pan and cook until soft and translucent.

Add rice wine vinegar, tamari, vegetable stock, and brown sugar to the pan. Simmer for 3-5 minutes.

Add Chinese broccoli and cooked for an additional minute.

COOK THE BROCCOLI

Add sesame oil, sambal, and lime juice, then remove from heat.

ALMOST THERE

Serve over rice or noodles, and garnish with togarashi spice (or toasted sesame seeds) mix.

Recipe - Impossible™ Cheesy Stuffed Meatballs

PREHEAT THE OVEN

Place the olive oil in a medium skillet on medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the onions and garlic, sauté for 5 minutes. Next, add the spinach and stir for 2-3 minutes until onions are transparent. Empty into a bowl and chill the filling for 10 minutes. Add the cheese spread, cheddar, kosher salt and pepper. Stir until combined.

MAKE THE FILLING

Use your hands to break up the Impossible Burger in a medium size mixing bowl. Avoid overworking it; try pitching the Impossible Burger through your fingers rather than kneading it. Next, pull apart a small amount of the Impossible Burger and gently roll between your hands to make several medium size meatballs. Place on a tray.

FORM THE MEATBALLS

Take a meatball and press your finger into the center and make a hole 3⁄4 of the way in. Don’t go all the way through. Spoon the filling into the hole. Seal the Impossible Burger tightly around the filling. Repeat with the remaining meatballs and filling. 

STUFF THE MEATBALLS

Heat a large skillet on medium. When the pan is hot, add the olive oil and swirl it in the pan to evenly distribute the oil. Carefully add the meatballs and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side until brown. Do not crowd the pan. If you try to turn a meatball and it sticks, wait a bit longer. Transfer the meatballs to a nonstick pan and cook for 7 to 10 minutes, or until the meatballs are tender and cooked through. Place the meatballs in a serving dish and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. 

COOK IT UP

Serves 4-6 dishes of cheesy deliciousness.

Recipe - Impossible™ BBQ Meatloaf

Place Impossible Burger, 1 cup of the barbecue sauce, onions, red bell peppers, garlic, and Old Bay seasoning in a large bowl. Use a folk to stir until the ingredients are well combined. 

MIX IT UP

Spray a generous amount of nonstick oil to cover the nonstick bread pan. Transfer the Impossible Burger mixture, then press down gently to form into the pan. Place in the oven for 25 minutes.

PACK IT IN

Spread the top of the meatloaf with the remaining barbecue sauce. Remove from oven to let rest and cool for 15- 20 mins before serving.
