WHAT IS IMPOSSIBLE BURGER MADE OF?

Impossible Burger is made from proteins, flavors, fats, and binders. The key difference from your average beef burger? Impossible Burger is made from plants. Here’s an overview:

  • Protein from soy.

  • Flavor from heme (the molecule that makes meat taste, well, meaty)

  • Fat from coconut and sunflower oils make it sizzle on the griddle

  • Binders, methylcellulose and food starch, hold it together so you can make anything you want -- meatballs, kebabs, patties, and more.

  • HOW DOES IMPOSSIBLE BURGER COMPARE TO BEEF, NUTRITIONALLY?

Impossible Burger is comparable in nutrition to 80/20 ground beef — it contains 19g of protein and is an excellent source of iron. But unlike beef, it has 0 mg of cholesterol and 14g of total fat (35% less than 80/20 ground beef!) and 8g of saturated fat per 4oz serving. It also contains no animal hormones or antibiotics.

    IS IMPOSSIBLE BURGER HEALTHY?

Impossible Burger, made from plant-based ingredients, is a good source of many important nutrients. However, as far as the term “healthy” goes, our bodies need a diverse diet. Impossible Burger, when consumed as a replacement for ground beef from cows, can be part of a well rounded diet, but it doesn't take the place of a salad, whole grains, or fresh fruit. It is important to get the recommended amount of daily vitamins, nutrients and protein by adding in a variety of these types of foods into your diet (and treat yourself occasionally to Impossible Burger when you want a satisfying, protein-rich meal!).

HOW DO I COOK IMPOSSIBLE BURGER?

One of the best parts about cooking the Impossible Burger at home is that you already know how to do it. Just use it in any recipe that calls for ground beef. Mix it with spices like ground beef. Form it into patties like ground beef. Brown it in a pan like ground beef. Need we go on?

Here’s how we like to make a classic Impossible Burger:

    1. Form patties, or if you’re using one of our pre-formed patty packs, no assembly required!

    2. Pre-heat your well-oiled pan to MEDIUM-HIGH or your grill to HIGH.

    3. If you’re using thawed patties, cook for 2 minutes per side. If your patties are frozen, they’ll need just a little longer -- 4 minutes per side.
