What is Impossible Pork?

Impossible Pork is meat made from plants, for people who love meat. It’s perfect in all your favorite ground pork dishes as a replacement for pork from pigs, but is made without any animal hormones or antibiotics.

What is in Impossible Pork?

Like ground pork from pigs, Impossible Pork provides proteins, fats, and micronutrients such as vitamins and essential minerals. The key difference? Our ingredients are derived from plants, not pigs.

Protein comes from soy and potatoes, flavor comes from heme (the molecule that makes meat taste meaty), coconut and sunflower oils make it sizzle on the griddle, and methylcellulose and food starch (common culinary binders found in sauces, jams and soup) hold it together so you can make anything you want -- lettuce wraps, tacos, shumai, dumplings, meatballs and more!

Is Impossible Pork vegan?

Impossible Pork is made from plants, without any ingredients from animal sources.   Our products are made for vegans, meat eaters and everyone  in between!

Is Impossible Pork gluten free?

Impossible Pork is made without wheat or gluten, but it is not certified gluten free.

Is Impossible Pork healthy?

At Impossible Foods, we aren’t trying to convince  people to eat more veggies or fruits  -- our mission is to give people delicious, sustainable and nutrient-rich versions of their favorite meats so they eat less meat from animals.

Impossible Pork is made from plant-based ingredients that provide macro- and micronutrients like vitamins and essential minerals, so you can feel good about what you’re eating. It contains a comparable amount of protein and has 59% less total fat, 36% less saturated fat and 37% fewer calories compared with 70/30 ground pork from pigs.*

However, as far as the term “healthy” goes, our bodies need a diverse diet. Impossible Pork, when consumed as a replacement for ground pork from pigs, can be part of a well rounded diet, but it doesn't take the place of a salad, whole grains, or fresh fruit. It is important to get the recommended amount of daily vitamins, nutrients and protein by adding in a variety of these types of foods into your diet (and treat yourself to Impossible Pork when you want a satisfying, protein-rich meal!).

*USDA 70/30 ground pork contains 32g total fat, 11g saturated fat and 350 calories while Impossible Pork contains 13g total fat, 7g saturated fat and 220 calories per 4 oz serving.

Is Impossible Pork halal or kosher?

Impossible Pork is not halal or kosher certified, but it’s made from plants, not pigs, so it could be a great option for anyone who avoids eating conventional ground pork.

Is Impossible Pork better for the environment than ground pork from pigs?

Yes! Impossible Pork uses 85% less water, 82% less land, and generates 73% less greenhouse gas emissions than ground pork from pigs.
