On Thanksgiving day we look forward to creamy, buttery mashed potatoes with a savory rich gravy. To make your gravy more inclusive this Thanksgiving holiday, you need this Impossible™ Thanksgiving Gravy recipe. Instead of the drippings from a roasted turkey, our recipe uses Impossible Ground Beef Meat From Plants, which gives the gravy a meaty depth of flavor.
Vegetable stock, shallots, garlic, fresh sage, and parsley also help to build the depth of flavor. This recipe is easy to make and virtually fool-proof in producing a hearty gravy worthy of your family's mashed potato recipe. And, it'll add an extra element of protein to a usually carb heavy side.   • 12 oz Ground Beef Meat From Plants
  • Grapeseed Oil, or other cooking oil such as Avocado or Vegetable, 1 Tablespoon
  • Kosher Salt, 1 Teaspoon
  • Fresh Black Pepper, 1 Teaspoon
  • Butter or Plant Based Butter, 1 Tablespoon
  • All Purpose Flour, 2 Tablespoons
  • 2 Shallots, Sliced Thin
  • Garlic, Minced, 3 Cloves
  • 2 cup Vegetable Stock
  • Fresh Sage, bundled together with kitchen twine, 5 Sprigs
  • Fresh Parsley, finely chopped, 2 Tablespoons
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

How to prepare

Step 1: COOK THE IMPOSSIBLE BEEF

Add the grapeseed or other cooking oil to a large pan over medium-high heat. Crumble Impossible Beef into the pan, season with salt and pepper, and sear until golden brown and cooked through, about 6 minutes.

Step 2: ADD SEASONING

Once seared and cooked through, add butter, shallots and garlic to the pan and cook for an additional minute or until butter is melted and shallots and garlic are soft.

Step 3: ADD FLOUR

Stir in flour until well incorporated and cook for about a minute.

Step 4: STIR IN VEGETABLE STOCK

One cup at a time, add in vegetable stock and stir until it heated through and thickened. Add the second cup of stock and cook until thickened. Reduce heat to low.

Step 5: ADD SAGE

Add in sage bundle. Allow to simmer for 10-15 minutes. Remove sage bundle.

Step 6: GARNISH

Just before serving, stir in fresh parsely and add additional salt and pepper to taste.

Step 7: SERVE, SHARE, AND ENJOY

This gravy can be served as a main course if served over mashed potatoes, stuffing/dressing or rice!
