Rice Bowls are a standard dish in Korean cuisine, and this one features Impossible™ Beef at the center to make it a delicious and hearty meal.
This is a surprisingly easy recipe to make. The key here is the finishing sauce, which you should make first. This sauce uses two standard Korean spice mixtures that are absolutely vital—Gochujang and Gochugaru. Gochujang is a spice mixture you should be able to find at most supermarkets. It is a tantalizing combination of spicy, savory sweetness. If you can’t find it in your supermarket or neighborhood Asian market, don’t worry—there are a number of recipes for making Gochujang at home. Normally, it is fermented, but some of these recipes don’t require fermentation. Gochugaru is a Korean chili powder. Again, this is one you should be able to find in most supermarkets nowadays with the increasing popularity of Korean food in the US. Trust us, your efforts to track down these two items will be rewarded!
Once you’ve got all your ingredients, the recipe comes together quickly and easily. Cook the rice the way you like to cook rice (all the better if you have a rice cooker, but an old fashioned pot on the stovetop works fine, too.) Cook the Impossible Beef and serve it in a bowl atop the fluffy rice, and top with chopped onions, sesame seeds and a fried egg.
