SLUTTY VEGAN AND IMPOSSIBLE FOODS TEAM-UP WITH JERMAINE DUPRI TO LAUNCH NATIONWIDE VOTENIK INITIATIVE

Atlanta, Georgia – Jermaine Dupri, Slutty Vegan ATL, and Impossible Foods are joining together to kickstart a yearlong campaign to feed different communities as they exercise their right to vote. The event will kick off in Atlanta today at Ralph Bunche Middle School at 1925 Niskey Lake RD S.W.

From 2pm – 6pm, the Slutty Vegan food truck will be parked at the school/voting site, and everyone who votes will receive a complimentary Slutty Vegan menu item.

Pre-COVID-19, Slutty Vegan was on a 50-city food truck pop-up tour, where they decided to use the opportunity to register customers to vote. Customers completed their voter registration forms while waiting on line, which was aimed to inspire people in the community to vote in the upcoming elections.

“This is the next step in making sure that everyone gets out and vote,” says Cole. “This is the most productive way to get our voices heard, and we are beyond grateful to be launching this initiative with both Jermaine Dupri and Impossible Foods.”

In Atlanta, ballots include the pandemic delayed Democratic presidential preference primary contested U.S. House primaries, dozens of state House and state Senate races, and two nonpartisan general elections for the state Supreme Court, along with sheriffs, county commissions, boards of education and other local races.

A play on the Freaknik name, an annual spring break festival in Atlanta, Georgia that was primarily attended by students from historically black colleges and universities, the collective are looking to make this an interactive and fun voting event.

With coronavirus still circulating, voters will be offered hand sanitizer as they arrive and will be standing six feet apart.

Jermaine Dupri and Pinky Cole will be on site.
