There are two debates many people have with themselves when preparing this meal (because talking to yourself while cooking is an important part of cooking!): 1) Should I make my own marinara or buy a jar at the store? And 2) How big should I make the meatballs?
For the first, the answer seems obvious to us: make your own marinara! It always tastes better. Under extreme circumstances, sure, use a jar of marinara you bought at the store. But trust us—this sauce is worth the wait!
This recipe is an easy way to make spaghetti and meatballs. The key to good meatballs is a flavorful spice mixture like the one we use here. It features a blend of fresh and dried herbs and spices. While the marinara is simmering away on the stove, you can whip up the meatballs and pop them in the oven for 8-12 minutes.
Now to the second question: how big should the meatballs be? We believe meatballs should be slightly smaller than golf balls, but that’s just our opinion. You make them the size you and your family like. Don’t stress out about them being the perfect shape and size. Life is too short for worrying about those sorts of things. Roll them out and place them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. When they come out of the oven, they go into the marinara sauce you have simmering on the stove. Heaven.
While all of this is going on, start a pot of water boiling for your pasta. And voila! In just over 30 minutes, you will have a tasty meal of Easy Impossible Meatballs and Spaghetti with marinara sauce.
