Odds are you’ve seen the viral TikTok Tortilla Wrap: it’s a super-simple, quesadilla technique that’s a game-changer. This incredible recipe comes to us from Kansas City-based food blogger and Instagram influencer Kasim Hardaway (www.kasimhardaway.com(opens in a new tab)). Hardaway uncovers so many food and drink treasures in Kansas City, you might want to go there for no reason other than just to try out his bar and restaurant recommendations.
Short of that, here he gifts us with an absolutely addicting recipe for a quesadilla-like tortilla wrap packed with Impossible™ Beef, shredded cheese, lettuce, sour cream and kick of spice. If tacos on Tuesdays are getting to be a bit same-old, same-old for you and your family, then you absolutely must try making this dish. You don’t have to wait until Tuesday, either.
You’ll be using all the usual ingredients, including Impossible Beef. But once you’ve assembled and prepped everything, that’s where the TikTok hack comes in. Pay careful attention to the assembly instructions in the recipe. You’ll be putting together a taco in quadrants, folding it up into a wrap like a quesadilla, and then toasting it in a lightly-oiled hot pan. Make one and you’ll get the hang of it. Your Tuesday tacos will never be the same at your house ever again.
The next step after eating this? Going to Kansas City yourself—with Kasim Hardaway’s website serving as your drinking and dining guide.

- 12 Ounce Package Impossible Beef
- 2 Teaspoons cumin
- 2 Teaspoons Chili Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 2 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt

Assemble the Wrap
Ingredients used
- 4 Flour Tortillas
- 2 Cups Shredded Lettuce
- 1/2 Cup Sour Cream or Plant-Based Sour Cream
- 2 Cups Shredded Cheese or Plant-Based Shredded Cheese
- 2 Cups Diced Tomatoes
- Tortilla Chips
Time for the TikTok hack. Take a tortilla and cut a line from the center of the tortilla to the bottom edge. Next visualize four quadrants: this is how you’ll assemble the wrap. Start with the first quadrant (bottom, left), add shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes. In the second quadrant (top, left), add a thick layer of sour cream (or plant-based sour cream) then a layer of tortilla chips. Make sure to press tortilla chips until flat. For the third quadrant (top, right), add a hefty amount of cheese (or plant-based cheese) and top with cooked Impossible Beef. For the final quadrant (bottom, right), add another hefty amount of cheese (or plant-based cheese). Starting with the first quadrant (bottom, left) fold it up and over the top left. Then fold it over the right and fold it down to the bottom right.
Toast the Wrap
Carefully pick up wrap and place flat in lightly oiled pan. Toast over medium high heat for 3 minutes. Flip and toast the other side for 3 minutes. Enjoy whole or slice in half for an easier bite.
