8 Ingredients

  • 1 package Impossible® Beef Meat From Plants
  • 2 Pieces of Lotus Root
  • 4 Fresh Water Chestnuts
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Mushroom Powder, 0.5 Teaspoon
  • Oil, 2 Tablespoons
  • 1 Egg (beaten)

How to prepare

Step 1: PREP YOUR INGREDIENTS

Clean and peel the lotus root, pat dry. Cut the lotus root into thin 2-3mm slices, around 20-24 pieces and set aside. Peel and clean the fresh water chestnut, pat dry. Dice the chestnut into small pieces and set aside.

Step 2: MAKE THE FILLING

In a bowl, add Impossible™ Beef, seasoning and diced water chestnut. Mix thoroughly and separate into 10 portions.

Step 3: MAKE THE LOTUS ROOT PATTIES

Using a butter knife, apply the portioned out Impossible Beef filling on top of a lotus root slice and smooth out the top. Use another slice of lotus root to sandwich the meat together. Press together gently so that the filling sticks to the lotus root.

Step 4: COAT THE PATTIES

Brush on a thin layer of beaten egg* on the surface of each lotus root patty. *Make it 100% plant-based by coating the patties with a thin layer of cornstarch instead of egg.

Step 5: COOK THE PATTIES

In a preheated pan, add in 1-2 tablespoons and place the lotus root patties in. Pan-fry on low heat until both sides are cooked through.

Step 6: SERVE AND ENJOY

Makes 10 lotus root patties.
