Here it is, one of the staples of Hong Kong, Cantonese, and virtually all Asian cuisines, but this time with an Impossible™ Burger twist. Fried rice is cooked and served all over Asia and is a standard part of street food menus for billions of people. It's also an ancient recipe. The first record of fried rice being served was during the sixth century in the Sui Dynasty. It’s easy to see why this dish has lasted so long and is so immensely popular. Fried rice is a savory, filling and comforting food and can serve as a meal in itself or as a side dish. First, we suggest marinating the Impossible Burger for at least 20 minutes in the marinade described below. You’ll need two kinds of oil: vegetable oil and sesame oil. The other key when making this dish is to thoroughly wash the rice before cooking. This may sound picky, but trust us—it will lead to much fluffier rice. Careful washing like this gets rid of any debris and the surface starch. When you first start doing this you’ll notice the draining water is cloudy, but by the end, the water is clear. Washing out the surface starch and debris means you’ll get cooked rice that isn’t gummy, but fluffy and tastier. Between the Impossible Burger and the three eggs, you’ll have a protein-rich and savory dish that’s delicious and easy to make.
