What Are Impossible™ Chicken Nuggets Made From Plants Made of?
Great news -- the best nuggets no longer come from chickens, they’re made from plants! By now, you may have heard about our irresistibly crispy, juicy and tender nuggets (available at your favorite retailers!), and want to know more about how we make them. In this blog, we break it all down for you.
What are Impossible Chicken Nuggets?
Impossible Chicken Nuggets are crispy, tender, delicious chicken nuggets—made from plants, for nugget lovers of all ages. We took the classic family favorite and made it even better using plants so that each nugget delivers the protein and flavor you crave, but uses 48% less land, 37% less water and generates 35% less greenhouse gas emissions than animal chicken nuggets. That’s meat on a mission!
What are Impossible Chicken Nuggets made of?
Impossible Chicken Nuggets are packed with soy protein to give them a meaty bite and make them a good source of protein. In fact, a 95g serving provides 26% of the recommended daily value! We also added sunflower oil as a source of juiciness and unsaturated fats, a wheat-based coating for that irresistible crunch, and a blend of spices and seasonings to give them that unmistakable taste that kids (and kids at heart!) love.
Compared to the leading animal chicken nuggets, each 95g serving of Impossible Chicken Nuggets contains*:
A comparable amount of protein
60% less saturated fat and 30% less total fat*
0mg cholesterol (compared with 40mg per 90g serving of animal chicken nuggets)
No animal antibiotics or hormones**
*The leading chicken nuggets contain 18g of total fat and 4g of saturated fat while Impossible Chicken Nuggets Made From Plants contain 12g of total fat and 1.5g of saturated fat per 95g. ** Federal regulations prohibit the use of hormones in poultry.

Food writers like Emily Heil and Olga Massow tested them with the toughest possible critic of them all: Olga’s 6-year-old son. All three of them gave Impossible Chicken Nuggets a thumbs-up!
A writer for Self.com was shocked to find out ‘they look, smell, and taste remarkably like chicken nuggets...My first bite was so similar to what I remember the real thing tasting like that I actually got a little grossed out for a second, forgetting I wasn’t chewing actual animal meat. There’s a real endorsement of their authenticity for you!’
