Introducing Impossible to the National Restaurant Association Show

Highlights from our premiere at the foodservice industry’s leading trade show

More than 65,000 chefs, restaurateurs, and food and beverage professionals make the annual pilgrimage to Chicago for the industry’s largest trade show: the National Restaurant Association Show. The four-day conference is a must-attend event for forward-thinking foodies — from award-winning chefs to fast-food franchisees. It’s the industry’s premier networking event and the best opportunity to taste the hottest new menu items.

The 2018 NRA Show was the first for Impossible Foods, which won the NRA’s 2018 Food and Beverage (FABI) Award(opens in a new tab) — a big honor in the category of product innovation. In addition, we served the Impossible Burger to more than 10,000 people in at least a dozen iterations, including burgers, tacos, meatballs, gyros and breakfast sandwiches. (We served more than 5,000 samples on the first day alone!) Check out the photo gallery below to learn more about what was cooking at the show.

Impossible Burger is as versatile as your imagination. From left: Breakfast Sausage Sandwiches on English muffins with egg and pepper jack cheese, Americana Sliders, and Italian meatballs with marinara sauce — all made with Impossible.

From left: Impossible’s SVP Global Sales, Stephanie Lind, accepts the prestigious FABI Award from Dickie Brennan, this year’s Convention Chairman; thousands of F&B professionals sampled a wide variety of Impossible menu items throughout the annual convention, and based on the high number of repeat visitors, we can confidently say that Impossible was a star of the show; colorful Impossible window clings brighten up the show’s pathways at McCormick Place.

The festivities didn’t end after the show wrapped each day — we served up flavorful Impossible sliders and tacos al pastor at the Flavor Forays BBQ!

Based on the number of repeat visitors and the super enthusiastic responses, we can confidently say that conference attendees loved all the Impossible menu items — and they were hungry for more.
